The Ministry of Economy, Trade and Industry has announced that it is suspected that an employee of a company that conducts a retail electricity business, which is a subsidiary of Tokyo Electric Power Company, has illegally viewed information on a system related to renewable energy generators managed by the government.

We are asking TEPCO to report on the cause of the fraud and improvement measures.

According to the announcement, there is a suspicion that employees of "TEPCO Energy Partner", which conducts electricity retail business, illegally viewed information on the system related to renewable energy power generation companies managed by the Ministry of Economy, Trade and Industry.

In this system, the names and addresses of government-approved business operators are registered, and at TEPCO, the information can be viewed by TEPCO Power Grid, a subsidiary that conducts power transmission and distribution.

However, there is a suspicion that some employees of another company, TEPCO Energy Partner, obtained system accounts and illegally viewed information.

In response to the report from the company, the Ministry of Economy, Trade and Industry asked "TEPCO Power Grid" and "TEPCO Energy Partner" to report on the cause of the fraud and future improvement measures based on the law.

In addition, it is a policy to investigate whether there are similar frauds with other major electric power companies.
