As notified by the bank to the National Securities Market Commission (CNMV), if only the extraordinary ones are discounted,

the profit rises by 33.3%

, and if the impacts of the merger are accounted for, the result drops by 39.8 %, since the profit in 2021 was 5,226 million euros due to the positive contribution for accounting purposes of 4,300 million of the negative goodwill or 'badwill' and other extraordinary results associated with the merger.

Taking the homogeneous perimeters and without the atypical ones,

income from the banking business

grew by 5.8%, up to 11,997 million, driven by the 7.7% increase in interest income, up to 6,916 million, and 33.1% of income and expenses from insurance contracts, up to 866 million.

Net commission income grew by 0.6% and totaled 4,009 million.

CaixaBank announced a 58% increase in

the dividend that will be paid on account of the results of 2022 and that will be 0.23 euros per share, compared to the 0.14 euros paid from the previous year .

In total,

1,700 million euros will be distributed,

of which approximately half will be received by the "la Caixa" Foundation and the State, through the FROB, as the main shareholders.
