This was stated by Serbian President Aleksandar Vucic.

According to him, 1.8 billion cubic meters of gas per year will be able to flow to Serbia through the 402 km gas pipeline.

“We will be able to supply other countries in the Western Balkans through our part of the gas pipeline, we will become a transit country for them, like Bulgaria for us,” TASS quotes him.

He noted that the new gas pipeline will connect Serbia with Bulgaria, Greece and other EU countries and will allow receiving gas from Azerbaijan.

Earlier, Vučić predicted a “hellishly difficult” winter in Europe due to the expected rise in electricity prices amid a lack of gas supplies.

In early October, Vucic asked the President of the European Commission, Ursula von der Leyen, to put the Balkan countries on the list to receive assistance in the face of the energy crisis.
