In order to strengthen its whiskey business, Suntory has announced a policy of investing 10 billion yen in equipment for distilleries in Osaka and Yamanashi.

According to the announcement, Suntory plans to carry out large-scale renovations at the Yamazaki Distillery in Osaka and the Hakushu Distillery in Yamanashi, which produce main brands of domestic whiskey.

In order to add original technology to the traditional method of manually promoting germination when making raw material malt from barley, we will introduce the necessary equipment at each distillery.

At the Yamazaki Distillery, we will remodel the pots of the distillery for development purposes, and at the Hakushu Distillery, we will build facilities for in-house cultivation to ensure a stable supply of yeast used in whiskey flavoring.

The company plans to carry out these renovations over the next year, with an investment of approximately 10 billion yen.

The domestic whiskey market continues to expand due to the strengthening of the brand power of domestic products and the spread of highballs.

At the press conference, Suntory President Nobuhiro Torii said, "The fact that Japanese whiskey is attracting attention around the world means that it is said to be of poor quality. We will simply improve quality and create demand." rice field.
