• Founded in Rennes in 2000, Hellowork has grown significantly to become the French leader in job and recruitment sites.

  • After two years of exceptional growth, the company wants to continue to grow through external acquisitions.

  • Hellowork wants to expand further abroad to compete with the American market giants.

By 2021, they had achieved “unexpected” growth.

When they looked at the results of the year 2022, the leaders of the company Hellowork saw that they had done even better.

The one that was long called Régionsjob once again had an exceptional year with more than 94 million euros in orders last year.

A figure up by 33% compared to the year 2021, which had already been marked by growth of +30%.

“Since 2018, all of our indicators have doubled,” summarizes François Le Verger.

The figures put forward by the company's managing director are dizzying: 3.5 million applications are sent each month and more than 8.5 million job offers have been posted online in 2022. In four years, the number of employees jumped from 250 to 500, distributed in Rennes, Bordeaux and Paris.

Created in the Breton capital in 2000, the company started from scratch.

“I remember our beginnings.

Our competitors bet everything on communication by repainting the Paris metro or putting their logo on dirigible balloons.

We distributed flyers at the Lices market,” confided to us a few years ago Gwenaëlle Quénaon-Hervé, who has since left the company.

A very dynamic job market

As it grew, Hellowork had no choice but to take on the role of French leader in employment, recruitment and training.

“We benefit from a very dynamic job market that generates a lot of movements.

The turnover is higher, companies must invest to recruit”, continues Jérôme Armbruster, president and co-founder of Hellowork.

Are recruitment tensions in certain sectors a boon for them?

“Extremes are bad for everyone.

You don't need too much tension.

But let's be honest.

Struggling companies are stepping up their efforts to canvass candidates, turning to employment and recruitment platforms to help them.

If the Rennes company is posting such growth, it is also because it has been shrewd in its acquisitions.

Since 2018, it has taken out the checkbook to gobble up the companies JobiJoba, Diplomeo, Seekube and Basile.

The balance sheet being excellent, Hellowork has decided to continue its policy of acquisitions.

Supported by its shareholder

Le Télégramme

, it has reserved an envelope of 50 million euros to expand.

“Our ambitions evolve as the company grows.

In 2018, we made four major acquisitions.

There, we are moving more towards two acquisitions but on a larger scale, ”continues Jérôme Armbruster, president and co-founder of HelloWork.

“A question of sovereignty”

If it wants to continue to grow, it is first to keep its French leadership.

But in the years to come, Hellowork would see itself setting foot abroad, where its presence is currently quite discreet.

“There is a question of sovereignty in saying that the shared data does not come from the other side of the world.

We must give ourselves the means to remain the Frenchman who comes to challenge international players, ”explains François Le Verger, with reference to Indeed and LinkedIn.

“They are much bigger, but they are also less agile.

Our priority for 2023 is to market our solutions abroad,” concludes David Beaurepaire, the company's managing director.

The Breton company is targeting France's neighboring countries such as Germany and the United Kingdom in particular, but does not refrain from conquering all of Europe.

His CV now allows him to dream.
