This was stated by the director of the department of banking regulation and analytics of the Central Bank of Russia Alexander Danilov.

He noted that 2022 turned out to be “difficult, difficult,” but the risks that economists saw at the beginning of the year did not fully materialize.

“Moreover, banks not only did not reduce the volume of business, but also increased their loan portfolios and maintained financial stability, which is important,” TASS quoted him as saying.

Earlier, Russian President Vladimir Putin, during a meeting on economic issues, said that 2022 was a very difficult year for the country.

Putin also noted that one should neither exaggerate nor underestimate the risks in the economy that exist in 2023.
