The former chairman of the board of directors of the major Swiss bank UBS, Axel Weber, is switching to the consulting business.

Weber started last week as a senior global advisor at the Boston Consulting Group (BCG), the consulting firm said on Thursday when asked.

Weber brings a wealth of experience from his career in academia, regulatory, central banking and corporates.

The economics professor and former Bundesbank President Weber headed the UBS Board of Directors for ten years and left the board in April 2022 after reaching the limit of his term of office.

The Swiss magazine "Bilanz" previously reported that Weber is going to Boston Consulting.

Weber was President of the Deutsche Bundesbank from 2004 to 2011.
