Indeed, May 1 (Labor Day) and May 8 (Armistice of World War II) fall in 2023 on Mondays.

This can allow many French people to take a few days off, adding a Friday or a Tuesday.

In addition, the spring school holidays for zone C (Occitanie and Ile-de-France) include these two dates.

All Inoui and Intercités TGVs until May 31

Also in May, travelers could take the train for the Ascension weekend.

This public holiday falls on Thursday May 18 and by taking a day off or an RTT on Friday May 19, employees will be able to take advantage of four days off.

Whit Monday is set for May 29.

Also in April, a three-day weekend is planned thanks to Easter Monday, fixed for April 10.

In detail, the open reservation, this Wednesday, concerns the TGV Inoui and Intercités connections which will run from January 27 to May 31.

Some TER in the region as well as the Ouigo (until July 7) are also part of the routes offered.

The SNCF specifies that the TGV INOUI to Brussels, Friborg and Luxembourg are also available.

Rising prices

On the other hand, the transport company indicates that "certain trains departing from and arriving in Paris (Gares Montparnasse and Massy) traveling to or from the regions of Brittany, Normandy, Centre-Val-de-Loire, Pays-de- la-Loire, Nouvelle-Aquitaine and Occitanie will not be open on January 25, 2023 for the weekends of Ascension and Pentecost”.

It is advisable to book your ticket as soon as possible if you want to take advantage of more affordable prices.

Because, this year, the SNCF tariffs have been revised upwards, with an average increase of 5%.

The periods of April and May being among the most requested, it will not take long to decide.
