Google has announced the loss of 12,000 jobs and argues a difficult economic situation for the company.

All that was missing was Google… A few days earlier, Microsoft had announced the dismissal of 10,000 employees over the next 3 months, ie 5% of the global IT giant's workforce.

Before him, there had been the 18,000 jobs deleted at Amazon and the 11,000 at Facebook.

The tech sector is in turmoil at the start of the year and social plans are multiplying due to an unfavorable economic situation.

“These companies are going through a waiting phase and in such a phase it is a question of putting on hold the least promising or riskiest projects which had already been the subject of hiring but which are no longer going to be perceived. as a priority the time that this recessionary and inflationary shock will last", explains Julien Pillot, digital economist at INSEEC Grande Ecole.
