China-Singapore Jingwei, January 22 (Chang Tao) The Spring Festival of the Year of the Rabbit is the fourth consecutive year that Li Bin, a post-80s online car-hailing driver, has stayed in Hangzhou.

According to the habit of the past three years, on the night of New Year's Eve (January 21), Li Bin left the car on time at 8:30.

When I got the car back home, it was already the early morning of the first day (January 22).

After a good night's sleep, Li Bin opened the software again to take orders...

I don’t make a lot of money on New Year’s Eve, but I have a sense of accomplishment

Li Bin is from Qiqihar, Heilongjiang. He came to Hangzhou in March 2019 and became an online car-hailing driver.

Before coming to Hangzhou, Li Bin experienced entrepreneurial failure and owed hundreds of thousands of foreign debts. After that, he also briefly "drifted north".

Currently, Li Bin and his wife live and work in Hangzhou.

It is a habit that Li Bin has persisted in for three years, and this year is no exception.

"Actually, the situation this year is a little bit special. There have been changes in the epidemic prevention policy. Everyone is more willing to return home for the New Year, but the more this is the more it shows the necessity for me to stay." Recalling the car trip on New Year's Eve yesterday, Li Bin said frankly: "Although I experience it every year, but the feeling is different every year, like going through a quick march.”

On the afternoon of New Year's Eve, Li Bin collected his car and went home early.

After eating and sleeping for a few hours, at 8:30 in the evening, Li Bin opened the software to take orders.

About 4 hours later, around midnight on the first day of the new year, Li Bin picked up the car and went home. At this time, his wife was already asleep.

After sleeping and resting, Li Bin got out of the car again.

Li Bin said that this schedule is a summary of his trips during the Spring Festival in the past three years.

"Traveling a car requires experience and skills. You can't do it recklessly. Not only will you lose money, but your body will be very tired. For example, on the morning of the first day of the new year, there are a lot of orders, and people who go to Lingyin Temple to burn incense and drop by. For New Year's greetings, I don't have to worry about bills anyway." Li Bin said.

The few days before and after the Spring Festival are also the time when Li Bin earns a lot of money in a year.

In the Spring Festival of 2022, Li Bin drove for 14 consecutive days without rest, with an average daily driving time of more than 10 hours and a total turnover of more than 16,000 yuan.

"At that time, due to the local New Year's Eve policy, there were many people in the city, and there were many long-distance bills. In addition to platform subsidies and guest red envelopes, in the past three Spring Festivals, the daily turnover could reach around 1,000 yuan." Li Bin said.

A few days before the Spring Festival this year, Li Bin spent around 800 yuan a day when he drove.

On the night of New Year's Eve, Li Bin drove for 4 hours, and his turnover was more than 100 yuan.

"I don't earn a lot of money, but sending passengers home and reuniting them gives me a sense of accomplishment," Li Bin said.

"Can't care about homesickness"

On New Year's Eve, he raced cars and ordered one after another. Li Bin said that he didn't have much time to feel the New Year's atmosphere, and he didn't even care about being homesick.

"Online car-hailing drivers can only feel at ease when they are running on the road."

In his opinion, as long as he and his wife live well in Hangzhou, every day is New Year's Eve.

"Chinese New Year is a time for reunion, but for grassroots service providers, this is also the time when the income is the highest. Although they can't accompany their families, they are very understanding."

For Li Bin's decision to stay in Hangzhou and stick to the car, his wife expressed her support.

In the original plan, Li Bin and his wife will hold a wedding in their hometown in 2022, but due to repeated epidemics, the wedding has not yet been held.

"We are in the service industry. Taking a taxi during the Spring Festival is already quite stressful. After the Spring Festival in May and June, when the weather is warmer, I will go back to my hometown in Heilongjiang to hold a make-up wedding." Li Bin said this is his biggest wish this year.

"The other one is after the Lantern Festival, I want to spend two days with my wife. At that time, most of the online car-hailing drivers have returned, and the capacity has been replenished. When college students return to school at the end of February, and the tourist peak in March, they will be busy again. stand up."
