ADNOC Distribution Company and Abu Dhabi National Energy Company "TAQA" signed an agreement with the aim of launching a new partnership, under the name "E2GO", to establish and operate the infrastructure needed to charge electric vehicles in the Emirate of Abu Dhabi and throughout the country.

The agreement, which was announced during the Abu Dhabi Sustainability Week 2023, was signed by the CEO of ADNOC Distribution, Engineer Badr Saeed Al Lamki, and the Group CEO and Managing Director of TAQA, Jassim Hussein Thabet.

According to yesterday's statement, the "E2GO" project comes in line with the development of the electric vehicle market in the country, which is witnessing rapid growth, as it is expected that there will be a need to establish up to 70,000 electric charging points in Abu Dhabi by 2030 to meet the growing demand for electric vehicles. , While the establishment of this important infrastructure requires investments amounting to about 734 million dirhams (200 million dollars), as capital expenditures.

E2GO aims to be the main provider of electric vehicle charging solutions and related infrastructure throughout the Emirate of Abu Dhabi, including fast electric charging points in the main areas of the emirate, and related services, such as parking, vehicle traffic tariffs, and the provision of digital platforms.
