The share of those who are estimated to have worked in the public sector the year before last stood at 10.3%, the highest ever.



The National Statistical Office announced that the ratio of jobs in the public sector to the total number of employed people, including career soldiers, last year was 10.3%, up 0.1 percentage point from the previous year.



This is the highest level since statistics began being compiled in 2016, and it can be estimated that one in 10 employed people worked in the public sector.



The ratio of jobs in the public sector to 25,578,000 total jobs, both public and private, was 11.1%, down 0.1 percentage point from the previous year.



The total number of jobs increased by 853,000 from the previous year, with public sector jobs accounting for 8.6% of the increase.



The number of public sector jobs the year before last was 2,839,000, an increase of 73,000 or 2.6% from the previous year.



Compared to 151,000 in 2019 and 164,000 in 2020, the increase has slowed.



The National Statistical Office explained, "The rate of increase in public jobs slowed down due to the base effect last year," and "the effect of the decrease in the rate of increase in local government job projects."



Public sector jobs increased by 53,000 in general government and by 20,000 in public corporations.



Of the 2,839,000 public sector jobs, 2.508,000, or 88.3%, had permanent jobs as in the previous year. It was a thousand.



By age, those in their 20s or younger were most employed in new or alternative jobs with 36.1%, followed by those in their 60s or older with 22.6%, those in their 30s with 16.4%, those in their 40s with 12.8%, and those in their 50s with 12.1%.



The National Statistical Office explained, "The number of jobs for those in their 60s or older has increased due to the government's senior employment project." .



The share of public sector jobs by industry was 48.7% in public administration/defense/social security administration, 27% in education service, and 3.8% in health/social welfare.



Among public sector jobs, there were 1,428,000 public servant jobs, an increase of 34,000 from the previous year.
