China News Agency, Beijing, January 16 (Reporter Liu Yuying) Data from several travel Internet platforms in China show that as the Spring Festival in 2023 approaches, the enthusiasm of the Chinese public for travel is high.

According to data from the third-party travel data app "Fei Changzhun", from January 7th to 13th in the first week of the Spring Festival travel season, the actual number of passenger flights on domestic routes has increased for 7 consecutive days, reaching more than 70,000 flights, and the average daily passenger flight volume has exceeded 70,000. million flights.

The number of domestic passenger flights increased by 12% year-on-year in the first week of the Spring Festival travel in 2022, an increase of 57% compared with 2021, and has returned to more than 80% of the same period before the epidemic.

The "2023 Spring Festival Travel Forecast Report" released by Baidu Maps and the Highway Research Institute of the Ministry of Transport on the 16th predicts that the total passenger traffic during the Spring Festival in 2023 will increase significantly compared with the same period in 2022, but it is not expected to return to the same period in 2019 level of passenger transport.

Taking into account the recent “whacking peaks to go home during the Spring Festival”, some migrant workers returning home early, and changes in travel willingness, the passenger traffic showed a clear daily upward trend before New Year’s Eve, dropped significantly on New Year’s Eve, and picked up again day by day after the first day of the first lunar month.

According to the "2023 Spring Festival Travel Forecast Report", Mafengwo's big data shows that in the past week, the popularity of "where to go during the Spring Festival" has risen by 172%, and "island", "hot spring" and "homestay" have become highly popular keywords during the Spring Festival holiday.

Big data from Baidu Maps predicts that the demand for hotels will gradually increase from the first day of the first lunar month. The top five cities for hotel orders are Shanghai, Chongqing, Beijing, Guangzhou, and Sanya. First-tier cities and tourist cities have a large demand for taxi travel.

The report combined Baidu Maps and Mafengwo data and found that Asian countries and regions that are closer to each other are expected to be the first to welcome the first batch of Chinese tourists after the resumption of outbound travel.

In Mafengwo’s “North Star Raiders”, the average page views of travel guides in Southeast Asia increased by more than 150% month-on-month.

According to Baidu Maps and Mafengwo Travel Big Data forecast, in terms of overseas travel during the Spring Festival, Thailand, Indonesia and other countries have attracted a lot of attention.
