The Livret A rate will be raised from 2 to 3% on February 1, as proposed by the Governor of the Banque de France, Economy Minister Bruno Le Maire announced on Friday.

As for the rate of the People's Savings Book (LEP), reserved for the most modest households, it will drop from 4.6 to 6.1%.

“We will be the only country in Europe which will offer its compatriots a guaranteed savings account at a rate higher than inflation,” the minister declared on France 2.
