Aflac Life Insurance Co., which handles cancer insurance in Japan, and Zurich Insurance Co., which sells automobile insurance, have announced that personal information of insurance policyholders has been leaked.

Both companies say that the American company to which they outsource the work may have been subject to unauthorized external access.

Of these, "Aflac Life Insurance" said that personal information such as surnames, ages, genders, and policy numbers of 1,323,468 cancer insurance members was leaked.

On the other hand, Zurich Insurance may have leaked the personal information of up to 757,463 current and past automobile insurance subscribers, including surnames, genders, dates of birth, email addresses, and securities numbers. I assume there is.

So far, no cases of misuse of personal information have been confirmed, but both companies say that there is a possibility that the American company to which the work is outsourced has been illegally accessed by an external party.

Both companies commented, ``We apologize for causing a great deal of inconvenience and concern to those concerned,'' after saying that they will contact and respond to the target customers individually.
