<Anchor> It

is a friendly economy time.

Today (9th), I will be with reporter Kwon Ae-ri.

Last weekend, I saw a lot of CES-related articles. Isn't CES almost over?

<Reporter>

Yes.

It's just over.

It was held in Las Vegas for four days starting on the 5th (US time) and a little while ago.

However, there are many fairs in the world, so why does it keep appearing in the news and making a fuss if it is always CES at the beginning of the year?

This is because CES is the world's largest technology expo, and in a word, it is an event where you can see all the cutting-edge things in the world right now.

In particular, in the last 10 years, as information and communication technology has developed greatly, mankind has felt that the future seen in science fiction movies is really coming.

At the same time, CES, which originally focused on home appliances, has gradually grown in status as a symbolic place to show off any cutting-edge technology in the world.

Then, as you might guess, it was the corona crisis.

This CES has gathered expectations because it has recovered the old atmosphere to some extent 3 years after the corona.

I'm sure many of you have already seen the CES-related news over the past few days. Have you noticed any awkward feelings?

There are far more people without masks than people with masks.

Even though it is a crowded indoor exhibition hall.

The organizers recommended that if possible, get vaccinated and those who are anxious should wear a mask, but none of them were obligatory.

There was only one duty: I had to submit a voice confirmation when coming from China and Hong Kong.

After the corona, the atmosphere is a little bit of a bit of a bit of a bit of a bit of a bit of But if you look at this year's CES, I heard that the international political situation has melted?

<Reporter>

Yes.

More than 3,200 companies came from all over the world.

323 of the world's top 500 companies participated.

However, compared to three years ago, right before the corona, it decreased by about 30%.

However, the number of Korean companies attending is the largest ever.

550 places.

South Korea is second only to American companies, and Korean conglomerates such as Samsung and LG were also chosen as the most popular exhibition halls.

Then, where did it mainly decrease, Chinese companies disappeared.

Even right before the corona, it was not an exaggeration to say that CES was the Huawei version.

However, this year, which is the first year of normalization, not only Huawei, but also Xiaomi, Oppo, and Haier, Chinese companies that were said to be a threat were not seen.

Even the 500 or so Chinese companies that participated did not have much noticeable technology.

It can be said that the slowdown in China over the past three years, which had been raising its terrifying momentum even in the cutting-edge ICT field, seemed symbolic.

The biggest impact is the US-China trade dispute.

In the meantime, China's corona blockade and the current re-trend situation have been reflected.

And there are countries where participation is banned altogether.

That's Russia.

Ukrainian companies have come through the war, but Russian companies that have brought some pretty interesting products in the past have all been banned this year.

The current global situation, in which political camps are noticeably divided, is reflected in the technology fair.

However, the US big techs who were absent last year returned in large numbers.

Google, Microsoft, and Amazon have all come back.

Then, what technologies caught your attention this time?

<Reporter>

In fact, the general evaluation is that there has been no great innovation that could change the game in the industry.

However, sooner or later, we saw some real ideas that we could encounter in our lives.

The color of the car changes rapidly in an instant.

You don't have to worry about the color of the car that you used to worry about when buying an expensive car.

Also, as I mentioned earlier, the exhibition halls of Korean companies were the most popular.

LG home appliances and wireless OLED TV sets that can freely change colors like German cars seen earlier, and Samsung's so-called Flex Hybrid, which not only folds but also expands, were selected as the exhibits that foreign media paid the most attention to.

The printer for dyeing, which was surprisingly popular, belongs to a Korean small and medium-sized company.

If you hold the machine in your hand and apply it to your hair, the hair will be dyed immediately, but if you wash it with shampoo, it will return to its original state.

In a situation where the economic recession was predicted, there was no company that released concept products from generation to generation even if it cost a lot of money like before the corona.

A lot of ideas came out, focusing on products that can be commercialized right away, especially making life easier by connecting different brands and different products with ICT technology.

In addition, it was characteristic that the car is not only a means of transportation, but also an electronic product that performs various functions at the same time.

This year's CES focused on how eco-friendly these technologies are.
