It is reported that these three expressways are all located in the northwestern part of Hubei Province, with a total investment of 12.93 billion yuan and a total length of 120.5 kilometers. They are "hard connectivity" projects for the transportation of the three major metropolitan areas in the province.
The southern section of the Xiangyang Ring Expressway is about 31.6 kilometers long, starting from Jianggang Village, Yushan Town, Xiangzhou District, and ending at Xiongmiao Village, Yinji Township, Xiangcheng District. The Xiongmiao Junction Interchange is set up to connect with the Erguang Expressway.
After completion and opening to traffic, it will form the first outer ring expressway network in Xiangyang together with the east section of Xiangyang Ring Expressway, Fuyin Expressway and Erguang Expressway, and together with the east section of Xiangyang Ring Expressway, Hanshi Expressway and Xiangjing Expressway , to add a new river-crossing passage for Xiangyang, and to boost the expansion of the economic corridor of the Xiangyang metropolitan area.
The Xiangyang North Section of Zaoqian Expressway has a total length of about 47.9 kilometers. It starts at the border of Hubei and Henan Provinces in Wangdaqiao Village, Xinshi Town, Zaoyang City, and connects with the Jiaozuo-Tanghe Expressway in Henan Province.
After the completion of the northern section of Zaoqian Xiangyang, the Zaoqian Expressway with a total length of 243 kilometers and a construction period of 7 years was completed. The shortest distance connects the Jianghan Plain and the Dongting Lake Plain, two major "granaries", which is of great significance for strengthening the economic and social exchanges between the three provinces of Hunan, Hubei and Henan.
The Hubei section of the Shixi Expressway is about 41.1 kilometers long, starting from Jiazhai Village, Shigu Town, Danjiangkou City, and ending at Sanqingmiao Village, Dingjiaying Town.
After the opening of the Shixi Expressway, a north-south expressway will be built in the two provinces of Hubei and Henan, realizing the rapid and direct access between northwestern Hubei and southwestern Henan, connecting Luoyang, Danjiangkou Reservoir, Wudang Mountain and other high-quality tourist attractions, and improving national and regional expressways. It is of great significance to strengthen the network layout and strengthen the inter-provincial expressway connection between Hubei and Henan provinces.
