A retractable rectangular steering wheel

This vehicle concept foreshadows the future Peugeot range from 2025. The model presented at the show is an electric coupe with a very long windscreen, windows capable of absorbing heat.

Inside, the vehicle has a revolutionary rectangular steering wheel, resembling that of a video game, designed to accompany driving that will be increasingly autonomous, as Carlos Tavarès, the boss of Stellantis, explains: " You have a rectangular steering wheel, touch controls with a very particular, very futuristic design, all of which can be retracted since when you're driving autonomously, you want to free up as much volume as possible from the cabin and the cockpit, so you tuck the steering wheel into the dashboard and of course you do it because there is no mechanical connection.

The question of keeping your hands on the steering wheel will no longer arise since, as you have understood, it will have momentarily disappeared.
