The Sony Group and Honda have unveiled for the first time an EV (electric vehicle) prototype under joint development.

The new company "Sony-Honda Mobility", which was jointly invested by the Sony Group and Honda and established in September last year, unveiled an EV prototype vehicle under development for the first time on the 4th at the CES technology trade fair in Las Vegas.



The feature of EV is that the part where the car navigation system is installed in front of the driver's seat is a full touch panel.



Taking advantage of Sony's strengths in entertainment such as games and movies, it is possible to connect to the virtual space of the Internet, the Metaverse, in addition to games.



At the press conference, it was revealed that it would collaborate with American game company Epic Games, which handles popular games such as Fortnite, and semiconductor giant Qualcomm.



The concept is to make the means of transportation more enjoyable, and the aim is to increase added value through collaboration with companies across industries and to differentiate in the increasingly competitive EV market. We are aiming for 2025.



CES, which opened on the 5th, has participating companies from all over the world exhibiting cutting-edge technologies, and the organizers expect 100,000 visitors, more than double last year's attendance.
