Chinanews.com, January 5th. On the 5th, the official Weibo of Hainan Airlines announced that recently, some netizens reported that there were passengers smoking on flight HU7237 (Beijing-Xi'an) on December 26, 2022.

It was verified that the passenger was an ordinary passenger seated by the window in business class 1A, who smoked electronic cigarettes after the flight security check was over and the flight attendants and security officers took their seats (according to the regulations of the Civil Aviation Administration, the flight attendants should be vaped 40 minutes before landing. It is necessary to descend to the security check and take a seat no later than 30 minutes before landing).

After returning to the surrounding passengers, the smoke did not spread significantly near the head of the passenger near the window of 1A, and because of the cabin wall blocking, this area is a blind spot for the crew to monitor, and the crew did not receive relevant information from the passengers during this period.

Hainan Airlines attaches great importance to this incident and has launched an internal investigation and submitted relevant information to the airport public security for assistance.
