The first shipment of gold ore was made at the Hishikari mine in Isa City, Kagoshima Prefecture, which produces the largest amount of gold in Japan.

The Hishikari Mine, located in Isa City, is the only gold mine in Japan where large-scale mining is being conducted on a commercial basis. I'm here.

On the 4th, the first day of work, the annual New Year's loading ceremony was held, and gold ore was loaded with an excavator onto a truck decorated with New Year's decorations such as shimenawa and red and white banners.

And I left while being sent off with applause by the employees.

The gold ore will be shipped from Kajiki Port in Aira City to a refinery in Ehime Prefecture.

The amount of gold contained in the ore mined at the Hishikari Mine is one of the highest among mines in the world, and approximately 6 tons of gold is produced annually. This means that we expect to reduce production to 4.4 tons.

Yoshinori Aono, Administrative Manager of Sumitomo Metal Mining's Hishikari Mine, said, "This year, we would like to operate with the safety of our employees as our top priority, so that everyone in the community can feel at ease."
