According to the housing transaction status by transaction cause disclosed by the Korea Real Estate Agency, in November last year, among a total of 55,588 housing transactions nationwide, 7,999 were gifted, accounting for 14.4% of the total.



Among these, the share of apartment donations nationwide in November was 11.1%, the highest since the survey began in 2006.



With housing transactions significantly reduced due to interest rate hikes, etc., it is analyzed that donations have increased for this reason, as gifting when house prices have fallen will reduce the tax rate and burden the gift tax.



In particular, from this year, the standard for acquisition tax due to gifting has changed from the previous standard market price to the recognized market price, and as taxes increase, it seems that the demand to finish the gift in a hurry by last year has increased.



The standard market price is the price announced by the government to collect tax on real estate, and is usually 60 to 70% of the market price.
