The Department of Economy and Tourism in Dubai revealed the latest statistics on the performance of the tourism sector and the number of international visitors, which showed that the emirate attracted 12.82 million international tourists between January and November 2022, compared to 6.02 million international visitors in the same period last year, an increase of about 113 million. %.

The length of stay of guests between January and November 2022 recorded about four hotel nights, compared to 4.6 nights in the same period in 2021, while the number of nights (reserved rooms) reached about 34 million overnight stays, compared to about 28.1 million overnight stays in the corresponding period. a growth rate of 21%.

According to the data, the average daily price for a hotel room was 521 dirhams, compared to 418 dirhams in the corresponding period, so that the return from available rooms was about 378 dirhams, compared to 275 dirhams.

The Gulf Cooperation Council region ranked first in terms of the source of visitors to Dubai, accounting for 21% of the total number of visitors during the first 11 months of this year, followed by Western Europe with 20%, then South Asia with 17%. %.

In turn, the Middle East and North Africa region accounted for 12%, and the Russia, CIS and Eastern Europe regions accounted for 11%.

The Americas accounted for 7%, Africa 5%, North and Southeast Asian countries 5%, and the “Australasia” region that includes Australia, New Zealand, Papua New Guinea and neighboring islands 2%.

Australia ranked first among the markets exporting tourists to Dubai during the period between January and November 2022 in terms of the growth rate of visitors, compared to the same period in 2021, as the number of visitors from Australia grew by 559%, recording about 160,000 tourists, and the Sultanate of Oman came in the center The second in terms of growth rate, after reaching about 449%, and the number of visitors from Kuwait witnessed a remarkable growth of 301%, recording 238 thousand visitors this year.
