Hino Motors, a major truck manufacturer, has officially announced that it will sell part of the site of its headquarters plant, which is scheduled to complete the transfer of production in about three years.

We would like to improve our financial base as the impact of the fraudulent test data problem on our business continues to linger.

Hino Motors decided to sell the site, which is more than 110,000 square meters, which is one-third of the head office factory in Hino City, Tokyo.

Due to the aging of the equipment at this plant, production functions such as trucks are being transferred in stages to a plant in Ibaraki Prefecture, and the transfer is scheduled to be completed within three years.

The company has been considering using the site for its own purposes, but due to the problem of fraudulent inspection data, shipments of some vehicle models continue to be suspended. It means that we decided to sell it in order to improve the foundation.

Based on the wishes of the local Hino City, Hino Motors is considering using the site as a data center.
