After not attending the meeting with the second vice president and Minister of Labor, Yolanda Díaz, at the meeting to negotiate the increase in the interprofessional minimum wage, CEOE and Cepyme have detailed a proposal that contemplates an increase in the SMI of 4%,

up to an amount of 1,040 euros gross per month in 14 payments

.

Díaz, for his part, has reminded them that negotiations are not "delayed" or "from outside" and that you have to be "present" at the tables, reports Europa Press.

The sit-in, in any case, was planned, since the organizations had already announced their intention not to attend the meeting this Wednesday.

"Everything is as up to now because what has been requested is that the amendment be reversed," employer sources confirmed to EL MUNDO at the beginning of the week.

They consider that the dialogue broke down after the introduction into the Employment Law of an amendment for the Labor Inspectorate to control the causes alleged in the ERE.

"The CEOE Board of Directors has agreed this Wednesday to submit a position of business organizations in accordance with the salary moderation that is needed to promote economic growth and job creation," the employers detailed in a statement.

This proposal is the aforementioned 4% increase in the SMI, which would be "

above the average salary increase agreed in the agreements signed in 2022 (3.03%) and the increase applied to civil servants (3.5%)

".

"We are aware of the impact of inflation on the lowest incomes, while we consider that the priority in 2023 is maintaining the employment of the group affected by the SMI, for which it is necessary to carry out an increase in step with this context" , stand out.

Regarding the increase, they explain that their position "takes into account the assessment of the parameters determined by article 27 of the Workers' Statute to set this increase in the SMI: inflation, the average productivity achieved, the increase in share of labor income in national income and the general economic situation".

Inflation, they point out, will remain "

above the 2% target for the next year

", but they believe that this also penalizes companies "on the cost side".

Productivity, they argue, is increasing in 2022, but the accumulated falls in recent years "result in productivity levels per employee in the third quarter of the year being 4.9% below pre-pandemic levels" .

Likewise, they consider that the minimum wage "especially affects small and medium-sized companies."
