China News Agency, Beijing, December 20th (Reporter Li Xiaoyu) China's service industry has taken new measures to open up.

According to news from ChinaGovernment.com on the 20th, the State Council of China recently approved a comprehensive pilot program for expanding the opening up of the service industry in Shenyang, Nanjing, Hangzhou, Wuhan, Guangzhou, and Chengdu. The pilot program will last for three years.

In 2015, China took the lead in implementing the comprehensive pilot project of expanding and opening up the service industry in Beijing, and gradually expanded to Tianjin, Shanghai, Hainan, Chongqing and other provinces and cities.

According to official requirements, the six pilot projects launched this time should steadily expand the institutional opening up of rules, regulations, management, and standards, and accelerate the development of the modern service industry.

The pilot program should carry out differentiated exploration, and gain more experience that can be replicated and promoted in terms of accelerating the development of modern industrial systems and promoting high-level opening to the outside world.

At present, the service industry has become an important engine for China to absorb foreign investment.

According to official data, foreign investment in the service industry has accounted for more than 70% of China's total foreign investment. In the first 10 months of this year, China's actual use of foreign capital increased by 14.4% year-on-year, of which the high-tech service industry grew by 25%.

In recent years, China has continuously taken measures to expand the opening up of the service industry, including reducing the service industry entries in the negative list of foreign investment access, increasing the service industry entries in the catalog of industries that encourage foreign investment, and increasing the comprehensive pilot program for expanding the opening up of the service industry.

A few days ago, the Central Economic Work Conference, which set the tone for China's economic work in 2023, made it clear that it is necessary to expand market access and increase the opening up of the modern service industry.
