It is reported by RIA Novosti with reference to the statement of the EU Council.

“Ministers formally adopted a Council regulation to strengthen solidarity through improved coordination of gas purchases, gas exchanges across borders, and reliable price benchmarks,” the release says.

Earlier, the Minister for the Environment, Energy and Enterprise of Malta, Miriam Dalli, said that the energy ministers of the EU member states agreed on a gas price cap of €180 per MWh.

It will take effect on February 15th.
