Consumers called on sales outlets to offer price reductions on commodities that are consumed daily and constitute a major part of consumer spending, noting that outlets rarely offer discounts on these commodities.

Officials of sales outlets told «Emirates Today» that the outlets are generally keen to diversify offers to include wide types of goods, and not to focus on specific types of products.

They explained that there is difficulty in some offers for fresh commodities that are difficult to store, and their prices are sometimes variable, pointing out that the decision on offers is taken in agreement with the suppliers of the commodities, as the suppliers may have another opinion on the reduction or not and its timing.
