Progress has been made with the partner parties, but many difficulties remain on the road to a new coalition.

The country is about to be ruled by the most right-wing government in its history.

Twenty-eight days will therefore not have been enough for Benyamin Netanyahu to set up the most extremist government coalition since the creation of the country.

And he is forced to ask for a two-week extension provided for by law.

An extension that is not automatic.

It must be justified.

Several tenors of the opposition ask the Israeli president not to accede to the request of the prospective Prime Minister.

Benyamin Netanyahu has nevertheless managed to sign coalition agreements with all the new partners of his party, the Likud: three far-right formations and two ultra-Orthodox parties which demand, even before the presentation of a government, to modify a certain number of laws.

Anger

In particular a reform which would allow Aryeh Deri, the leader of the Sephardic party Shas, to assume ministerial responsibilities despite his suspended sentence for tax evasion.

Another problem is that there are very few ministerial portfolios left to distribute for those close to Benyamin Netanyahu within his own party.

And anger grows...
