In detail, Mohammed Salem Al-Afari, Secretary-General of the Emirates Iron Producers Committee and Senior Vice President of Marketing at the Emirates Arkan Steel Group, said that the local markets have witnessed a growth in demand for reinforcing steel since the beginning of this year, with the support of new real estate projects and infrastructure development. .

He added that the growth recorded by the national economy during the current year reflected positively on the construction sector in terms of increasing the demand for building materials.

For his part, the regional director at Openspace, Rob Matheson, agreed that new real estate projects and infrastructure projects contributed to the recovery of the construction sector after the pandemic, as it recorded recovery rates that reached pre-pandemic levels.

He said that growth rates have been recorded in the demand for building materials, which have reached more than 20% since the beginning of this year, compared to last year.

In turn, the founder and chairman of the Danube Group, Radwan Sajan, said that the implementation of many new real estate projects in the local market since the beginning of 2022 had strong effects in increasing the demand for building materials and equipment for housing units in large proportions compared to the year 2021.
