Yesterday, the Emirates Pilot Training Academy celebrated the graduation of the third batch of its pilots, as 53 students successfully completed the global training program for the academy, which achieved three achievements, represented in graduating international students for the first time since it opened its doors to non-Emiratis in late 2019, at a time when it exceeded The total number of graduates is 100 pilots since the graduation of the first batch in 2020, in addition to the fact that this batch is the largest since the opening of the academy in 2017.

His Highness Sheikh Ahmed bin Saeed Al Maktoum, Supreme President and CEO of Emirates Airlines and the group, congratulated the graduates and handed them certificates.

His Highness said, "We have realized during the past years that the demand for pilots to support the need for commercial aviation will be great, and as a global carrier and a pioneer in the industry, we had to take the initiative to act."

His Highness added: “Today's graduation ceremony represents the fruits of our long-term vision to establish the Emirates Airline Academy for Training Pilots, to receive and nurture young talents, not only locally, but also from different countries of the world.

We are proud of our team of instructors and administrators, and our well-qualified future pilots graduates who are considered the greatest proof of the academy's contribution to the aviation industry.”

For his part, the Director of the Emirates Pilot Training Academy, Captain Abdullah Al Hammadi, said, “Our graduates bid farewell to the Academy today, not only with a set of certificates and awards, but with a rich collection of professional and life skills, and the amazing competencies they acquired over more than two years of theoretical study and practical training.” In addition to vivid memories.

He continued, "They left their mark on the academy, and we are confident that they will be warmly welcomed and admired by the aviation industry."

rigorous programme

Upon their ascent to the stage, the graduates received a well-deserved welcome from their families and friends, after they completed a rigorous program that included 900 hours of ground training and 250 hours of flight instruction, to obtain a "commercial pilot" license.

The Academy also honored graduates who excelled in various aspects of the training programme.

In his speech during the ceremony on behalf of his fellow graduates, graduate pilot Ali Al-Ali said: “We remember the feeling of pride when we joined the academy, and when we wore the uniform for the first time, on our first solo flight.

We loved the floor school and our high tech classrooms, even the nights we spent studying loved it.

But then we loved flying lessons even more, we loved the hours we spent honing our skills in the open skies, and realizing that this is what we're going to do for our entire careers.”

He added, “What could be more extraordinary than having an office 38,000 feet in the air?

The academy has taught us all how to be leaders, how to be responsible, disciplined and professional.

On behalf of the Class of 2022, we extend our sincere gratitude to everyone who made our graduation possible.”

95% of the graduates of the Emirates Academy are citizens

The Director of the Emirates Academy for Training Pilots, Captain Abdullah Al Hammadi, said that the total number of graduates has reached 103 students, since the opening of the academy in 2017, of whom 98 graduates are UAE nationals (95%), indicating that most of the graduates were employed in «airline» Emirates » directly.

Al-Hammadi added to the media, on the sidelines of the ceremony, that students from UAE nationals are accepted free of charge, at a time when the Academy reviews applications continuously, and receives new students in batches, once every two months.

He stressed that despite the exceptional circumstances since the spread of the Corona pandemic, the demand for pilots will continue to grow globally and in the region.

He said, "The Emirates Pilot Training Academy is committed to providing the most efficient programs using the latest aircraft, technologies and training methods."

He also pointed out the availability of modern accommodation facilities for students, including sports and recreational facilities, while the academy accommodates up to 600 students in various stages.

Al-Hammadi revealed initiatives and school tours to encourage students to join the academy, noting that about 250 male and female students are currently in the training phase, most of whom are Emiratis.

He added that the academy owns 27 aircraft, and will announce in the coming months the accession of three new aircraft with "simulation devices" to its fleet.
