Officials: 35% growth in the use of “drones” and “3D printing” in construction

Officials of companies participating in the “Big Five” exhibition stated that the construction sector is currently witnessing growing trends and expansion in adopting reliance on modern smart technologies, the most prominent of which are the uses of 3D printing, “drones” and artificial intelligence.

They indicated to «Emirates Today» that the estimates of growth in demand for these technologies ranged between 20 and 35% since the beginning of this year compared to last year.

In turn, the director of technical support at the “MENA 3D” company for construction technologies, Konstanius Patsils, said, “The local markets are currently witnessing a growth in adopting the use of modern technologies in the construction sectors, most notably relying on 3D printing and the uses of drones,” pointing out that “ These technologies are witnessing an expansion in demand for them, at rates estimated at 20% since the beginning of this year compared to last year, while the demand for them is expected to increase by greater rates next year.

He added, "3D printing allows the use of large devices in construction operations or small devices in building models for projects with great accuracy, in a way that allows seeing all project details, and modification before construction."

“Modern construction technologies that rely on drones and 3D printing have been growing since the beginning of this year, at rates of 35% compared to last year,” said Asmaa Muhammad, engineer of “Drones” projects at Aeromots.
