In its battle for the renovation of the entire housing stock, the State has largely involved the private sector through the system of energy saving certificates (EEC), better known as energy bonuses.

If you plan to improve the energy performance of your home, these grants may be of interest to you!

We review them.

An unknown principle

All the giants of the energy market have legal savings quotas to fulfill.

However, to respond to this, companies producing or distributing gas, electricity and other fuels can finance the work of individuals.

These private suppliers thus obtain the famous ESCs, while households benefit from energy bonuses.

And, the good news is that both owners and tenants can claim it without income conditions, and this, for a main or secondary residence completed more than 2 years ago.

Once your project has been carefully considered, all you have to do is select the energy supplier whose offer is best suited to your needs, before looking for an RGE professional (“recognized guarantor of the environment”) to carry out the work.

Please note: the financing proposal must be accepted before the works estimate is signed!

Heating, insulation, renewable energies, ventilation, programming, countless operations can give rise to these subsidies, the amount and form of which vary according to the nature of the renovations and the supplier.

Indeed, the energy bonuses can be paid in euros after the work or directly deducted from the invoice or even granted in the form of purchase vouchers.

A comparison is therefore in order.

Targeted boosts

In order to encourage specific construction sites, the State has been improving certain works for several years through “energy saving boost” operations.

The principle: suppliers earn more ESCs, provided they increase their financing from households, all within a stricter framework.

This is the case of the “heating boost” bonus which has been extended until 31 December 2025. It provides up to €4,000 for low-income households and €2,500 for others, in order to replace a old heating by a powerful model.

The amount of aid varies according to the new equipment chosen (heat pump, solar system, efficient biomass boiler, wood heating, etc.).

Please note, the very high performance gas boiler (THPE) and the efficient electric radiator no longer benefit from this boost since June 2021, but can still benefit from standard EECs.

In order to encourage the French to adopt a complete renovation approach, the State has also set up the "global renovation boost", simplified at the start of 2022 and also extended until the end of 2025. The range of works carried out here must make it possible to achieve at least 55% energy savings (heating, insulation and hot water) for a house and 35% for a collective building.

OUR “HOUSING” FILE

As for the amount of the bonus, it varies between €200 and €350 per annual megawatt-hour saved, depending on energy consumption after work (new criterion for 2022) and the income of individual owners.

The subsidy can rise to €500/MWh/year saved for a building.

The end of some aid

While some boost operations have met with great success, they have not always proven to be relevant and have even led to an explosion of scams and botched construction sites, which has led the State to tighten the screws.

The "insulation boost" dedicated to attics, roofs, walls or even low floors was thus abolished on July 1, 2022. It is in particular thanks to this increased bonus that a good number of French people have been able to insulate their attics. for a symbolic €1.

Nearly 2 million works were sponsored between 2019 and 2021, according to the state report.

Similarly, the “thermostat boost with efficient regulation”, set up in 2020 to encourage the French to install a programmer for their heating, came to an end on December 31, 2021.

But in either case, this does not mean that you are no longer entitled to any subsidy!

It is indeed always possible to benefit from standard CEE premiums for an insulation project or for the installation of a thermostat.

On the other hand, the amount granted will necessarily be lower.

Energy bonuses are not the only aid you can benefit from for your work!

They can indeed be combined with MaPrimeRénov and the zero-rate eco-loan.
