On December 1, Dalian Metro Line 5, the first cross-sea subway line in Northeast China, officially started its no-load test run.

  Dalian Metro Line 5 is a north-south subway line running through Zhongshan District, Xigang District and Ganjingzi District, with a total length of 24.484 kilometers and 18 underground stations.

It can seamlessly transfer with Metro Lines 1, 2, 3, 4, 6, and 13, making the scenic spots, high-density residential areas, bustling commercial areas, and transportation hubs more closely connected along the line, and greatly shortening the "one bay with two wings" "The space-time distance.

  It is worth mentioning that the section between the railway station of Dalian Metro Line 5 and Suoyuwan Station passes through the sea area of ​​Suoyuwan, with a total length of 2870 meters. This is also the first cross-sea subway line in Northeast China.

On January 16, 2021, the "Super Sea Piercing" project of Dalian Metro Line 5 came to a perfect conclusion, marking that China has successfully overcome the "worldwide problem" of karst geology in the sea area under the large shield tunnel.

  It is reported that Dalian Metro Line 5 will be put into trial operation in the first half of 2023.
