Deputy Prime Minister Novak called Poland's actions in the oil and gas market a theater of the absurd

He commented on the information that the Polish concern Orlen applied to Transneft for the supply of 3 million tons of oil from Russia via the Druzhba pipeline in 2023.

“We are only watching from the media.

We believe that this is the theater of the absurd, what they are doing, ”he said.

Novak did not confirm or deny the information about the concern's application.

Kommersant previously reported on Orlen's application to Transneft, citing sources.

Transneft Vice President Sergey Andronov confirmed that the company has applications from Polish consumers for 2023 in transit through Belarus.

He did not specify from whom and for what volumes applications were received.

On November 15, Polish Foreign Minister Zbigniew Rau said that the authorities are seeking to impose EU sanctions on oil supplies via the Druzhba pipeline.

On November 28, Polish Prime Minister Mateusz Morawiecki said that Poland was calling on the European Union to cut Russian oil supplies "as soon as possible."
