The unemployment rate in the euro zone reached a new historic low in October, at 6.5% of the working population, after 6.6% in September, according to Eurostat data published on Thursday.

The indicator has been at its lowest since the European statistics office began compiling this series in April 1998. Over one year, it fell by 0.8 points thanks to the post-Covid economic recovery.
