It appears to be a record: £1.5million every day of the year.

According to information from the Guardian, British hedge fund manager Christopher Hohn apparently paid that much dividend last year.

The British newspaper reported on Thursday that the total sum of 574 million pounds (equivalent to around 667 million euros) is probably the highest annual payment ever transferred in Great Britain.

The sum Hohn received from his Children's Investment fund is 15,000 times the average UK salary and 3,500 times the salary of Prime Minister Rishi Sunak.

Hohn apparently invested the profit back into his fund, it said.

The reclusive billionaire is considered a philanthropist and has been supporting children in poorer countries for years.

The American magazine "Forbes" puts him in 259th place on the list of the richest in the world with an estimated fortune of 7.9 billion US dollars (around 7.58 billion euros).

Hohn had also received enormous annual dividends in previous years.

In the fiscal year ended February 2020, it was said to have been $479 million, and then $152 million in 2021.
