With food, in company and in moderation.

This is how adults between the ages of 18 and 35 drink beer, according to the "Study on the responsible consumption of beer among young Spaniards", carried out by Cerveceros de España in collaboration with the Center for Applied Social Research (CISA) of the University of Malaga and Metroscopy.

This report, which has interviewed 1,500 people, highlights that young people consider that responsibility in beer consumption not only implies

knowing when to stop

, but also that consumption should always be done with food, avoiding mixing and in company.

"Adults under 35 years of age have healthy and responsible attitudes that are manifested at all levels, and even in their leisure time," analyzes

Luis Ayuso

, professor of Sociology and deputy director of the Center for Applied Social Research (CISA) at the University from Malaga.

In this sense, the study highlights that 9 out of 10 young people believe that going out to beers is a good plan, an option that is "essential" for 47% of those surveyed.

Almost half believe that it

is a "flat plan".

The favorite places for young people to have a beer are bars (21.8%), restaurants (18.4%) and discos/pubs (13%).

Campaigns for responsible consumption

"Young Spanish adults have a healthy and responsible relationship with beer, since they consume it in a sensible and moderate way," explains

Jacobo Olalla

, president of Cerveceros de España.

Despite this, responsible alcohol consumption is one of the concerns expressed by this age group, which calls for more campaigns to raise awareness about the effects of alcohol misuse.

This study is part of the "A great beer, a great responsibility" campaign, which Cerveceros de España is carrying out to promote responsible consumption of a key food in the Spanish economy.
