Recently, stores and shopping centers in Dubai witnessed remarkable turnout for consumers, with the conclusion of the “3 Days of Major Discounts” event offers, which were organized by the Dubai Festivals and Retail Corporation, in addition to the “White Friday” offers, offering discounts that ranged between 30 and 90%.

Officials and specialists in the retail trade sector assured Emirates Today that the timing of the two events had significant positive effects on the recovery of sales in the sector, with high turnout and sales rates in stores ranging between 30 and 40% compared to normal days.

Consumers indicated that the offers allowed for an expansion of discounts, whether in traditional stores or e-commerce platforms.

Ahmed Al Khaja, Executive Director of the Dubai Festivals and Retail Corporation, told Emirates Today, "The (3 days of grand discounts) event is one of the special events that Dubai residents and visitors await, given the promotional offers it offers and the opportunities to win valuable prizes.

This event, which is organized twice a year, and integrates with festivals and other events that we organize throughout the year, within the annual Dubai calendar for the retail sector, has contributed to strengthening Dubai's position as a leading shopping destination in the region and the world, and it also contributes to revitalizing the retail sector, which is One of the important sectors of the Dubai economy ».

Al-Khaja added: “(3 days of major discounts) during the past weekend achieved remarkable success, as shopping centers and participating stores, whether on their sites or through their online shopping platforms, witnessed a great turnout, which contributed to an increase in the number of shoppers, as well as Sales, thanks to great promotions and discounts of up to 90%, on products for 568 participating local and international brands.

In turn, the consumer, Ahmed Abdel-Rahman, said, "The offers of (White Friday) events and (the major discounts) provided expanded offers for discounts in the retail trade sector in Dubai, and with greater rates of discounts compared to the previous offers periods."

And the consumer, Mounir Hussein, added that he "noted an intensity in the offers of discounts, in the Dubai markets, with the coincidence of (White Friday) and (the big discounts), which made stores expand to include their products more within the discounts, including the products of the winter season."

The consumer, Ibrahim Abdelaziz, explained that "the intensity of the offers of discounts during the recent period in the Dubai markets was remarkable, and motivated consumers to take advantage of these offers to buy gifts and supplies, especially with their timing, which precedes the winter holiday season."

In turn, the Director of the Marketing Department at the Union Coop, Dr. Suhail Al Bastaki, said, “The major discount events in Dubai had positive effects in reviving sales of the retail trade sector, which witnessed a remarkable momentum in the demand for stores in the commercial centers of the cooperative or even In the outlets of the cooperative itself ».

He added, "The offers raised turnout and sales rates by more than 30% compared to previous periods."

The sales official at one of the retail outlets in Dubai, Patrick Joe, explained that “keeping pace with the offers of major discounts with the timing of the (White Friday) offers raised the rates of consumer demand for the outlets,” pointing out that “sales witnessed a growth rate of more than 40% compared to normal days.” .

Abdul Hameed Al Khashabi, the official spokesman for the "Aswaaq" group centers affiliated with the Dubai Government Investments Corporation, considered that "discount offers are among the catalysts for the recovery of sales in the retail trade sector, especially as it coincides with the holiday season."
