A farewell party was held in Kyoto for honorary chairman Kazuo Inamori of Kyocera, who grew Kyocera into a global company in a single generation and passed away in August this year.

Kazuo Inamori founded Kyocera, grew it into a global company in a single generation, and worked hard to rebuild the company as chairman of the bankrupt Japan Airlines.



In addition, Mr. Inamori's management philosophy, called "philosophy," attracted many people, and he passed away at the age of 90 in August this year.

A large number of people attended the farewell party held in Sakyo Ward, Kyoto City on the 28th.



The venue was decorated with photographs taken 14 years ago at a travel destination, and visitors waved white carnations.

Shigenobu Nagamori, chairman of Nidec Corporation, said, "He was a person who was both kind and strict, so I was able to learn from him no matter what he said."

In addition, Professor Shinya Yamanaka of Kyoto University's iPS Cell Research Institute, who received the Kyoto Prize, which was established by Inamori for the development of science and art, said, "'We think about the pace of research like a marathon.' When I talked to him, Mr. Inamori answered, 'I'm always running at full speed,' which left an impression on me."

Tadao Ando, ​​the architect who designed the Inamori Kaikan, which Mr. Inamori donated to Kagoshima University, said, "He was a person who checked every corner, but when we went fishing together, he was easygoing and had a sense of humor. I remember feeling that I was going to create a world," he said.
