The Occitanie region has launched a vast recruitment campaign to deal with the shortage of coach drivers.

In January, a thousand people, including about a third of job seekers, had been recruited and trained free of charge by the community.

In order to ensure the sustainability of the network, 470 additional drivers are expected during a second wave of recruitment.

“The start of the new school year and the first months of the school year were ensured in good conditions thanks to the first recruitments of drivers made this year, specifies Carole Delga, the president of the region.

I invite job seekers or people in retraining to learn about the profession from the teams of the Houses in my region and the Houses of orientation.

I also remind you that the region takes care of all the training to pass the passenger transport permit”.

“Training funded, job guaranteed”

“Training funded, jobs guaranteed”: this information campaign was launched to meet these needs.

Delegated transport companies also organize open days.

Each year, 170,000 pupils are transported by the liO school bus network on the 370 regular lines in the thirteen departments of the Occitanie region.

School transport is free for all entitled pupils.
