The strike by the cargo unions has reached its second day.

Logistics disruptions are occurring everywhere.

The government is in a position to respond with a strong response, foreshadowing the invocation of the 'business start order'.

Starting today (the 25th), non-regular workers in charge of school care and meals will also stop working.

After the cargo union went on an indefinite strike, the number of trucks going to and from the Uiwang Inland Container Base, the logistics hub of the metropolitan area, decreased noticeably.

The Cargo Workers' Union said about 25,000 union members participated in the general strike.

Major ports across the country transported cargo in advance in preparation for strikes, and it was found that there were no major problems yet.

However, due to the suspension of shipments, some cement factories and steel mills suffered transportation disruptions.

If the strike is prolonged, the aftermath of logistics disruptions is expected to spread throughout the industry.

The problem is that the positions of the government and the cargo union are running parallel over the key issue, the 'safe freight system'.

Ahead of the expiration of the safe fare system, called the minimum wage for cargo drivers, at the end of this year, the government is calling for a three-year extension, and the cargo unions are insisting on permanent implementation and expansion of targets.

The government is responding strongly to this strike, even announcing the invocation of a 'business start order', leading to a strong-to-strong confrontation.

[Won Hee-ryong/Minister of Land, Infrastructure and Transport: The unilaterally enforced refusal of collective transportation by the cargo union takes the national economy as hostage and cannot help but be said to be a very selfish act with no justification or justification.]

[Lee Bong-ju/Chairman of the cargo association: However, there is no room for dialogue with the Ministry of Land, Infrastructure and Transport’s conclusion that abolition of the sunsetting system and expansion of items are absolutely impossible.]

In the midst of this, about 80,000 non-regular workers in charge of school care and school lunches are going on a general strike today, demanding improvements in working conditions and wage increases. .
