A slight improvement in sight, to be taken with measure.

The number of job seekers registered in category A (without activity) fell by 1% in October compared to September, with 30,500 fewer unemployed people to 3.092 million, according to figures from Dares.

But the statistical service of the Ministry of Labor does not comment on the monthly data, which is too volatile, favoring quarterly changes.

Stable figures in the third quarter

Including reduced activity (categories B and C), the number of job seekers in France (excluding Mayotte) only decreased by 0.2%, or 10,800 fewer people and stood at 5.413 million.

Over one year, the fall in category A is 9.6%.

For categories A, B and C, it is 6.7%.

The latest quarterly results published at the end of October showed stability in the third quarter compared to the second, at 3.164 million subscribers, or 1,700 fewer people.

The stability was identical including reduced activity (categories B and C of Pôle Emploi) at 5.436 million.
