The Dia supermarket chain, which is in the midst of a transformation process, has welcomed the agreement reached with the unions for the renewal of the collective agreement, after agreeing on a "historic salary increase" of between

8% and 12% of the salary

to its employees in stores and warehouses in Spain until 2024.

"This is a great moment in our transformation process. We have had to make many difficult decisions, work hard and always believe in the recovery of the company through humility and a job well done. Thanks to this joint work we have earned to reach today where we can carry out this historic salary increase for Dia in a responsible and sustainable manner", said the CEO of Dia Spain,

Ricardo Álvarez.

Specifically, the supermarket chain and the

Fetico, CCOO and UGT FeSMC unions

signed yesterday a pre-agreement of the new collective agreement that runs until December 31, 2024 and will be signed on December 1.

In the preliminary agreement reached, salary increases have been agreed for the workers of its network of stores and warehouses that include increases between 8% and 12% for 2023 and 2024.

The supermarket chain has recognized that

"it represents a great step for the long-term stability

of the transformation project of the company in Spain".

In addition, two special additional extraordinary bonuses

will be activated

for the full validity of the agreement.

The first affects workers who have a fixed annual salary equal to or less than 23,847 euros, who will receive an extraordinary bonus of 350 euros, while the second is linked to a certain level of results in 2024.

"I want to thank each and every one of the members of our teams in stores, warehouses, offices and their respective union representatives for their sacrifice, commitment, hard work and patience during these last three very difficult years for the company", Álvarez stressed.
