Dubai Electricity and Water Authority (DEWA) announced that the completion rate of the water tank project, which it is implementing in Hatta, has reached 75.9%, while the project, which has a storage capacity of 30 million gallons at a cost of approximately 86 million dirhams, is expected to be completed in April 2023. .

Saeed Mohammed Al Tayer, Managing Director and CEO of Dubai Electricity and Water Authority, said that the water reservoir project in "Hatta" supports the comprehensive development plan for the "Hatta" region, by improving the efficiency and reliability of water networks, raising the quantities of water flow, and increasing the water reserve stock, including It contributes to enhancing the sustainability of water resources, within the framework of the integrated strategy for water resources management in Dubai 2030, which focuses on enhancing water resources, and using the latest technologies and innovative solutions.

It is noteworthy that DEWA is currently implementing a project to store 6,000 million gallons of desalinated water in groundwater basins, and retrieve it when needed.

This technology provides a strategic reserve that supplies the emirate with more than 50 million gallons of water per day in emergency situations for a period of 90 days, while ensuring the safety of the stored water from external influences.
