<Anchor> The

cargo union went on a general strike again today (24th) following last June.

Let's connect reporters at the inland container base in Uiwang, Gyeonggi-do, which is the logistics base for the metropolitan area.

Reporter Jung Joon-ho, how is the current situation?

<Reporter>

Yes, originally trucks would come and go 24 hours a day, but now there are almost no moving vehicles.

The Korean Confederation of Trade Unions' Public Transport Workers' Cargo Solidarity went on a general strike from 0:00 this morning.

This is the second time this year after last June.

The cargo union will hold a strike ceremony at 10 am at the same time at 16 headquarters across the country, including Seoul, Gyeonggi, and Incheon.

The 'Safe Fare System', which guarantees minimum transportation charges to truck drivers, is scheduled to end at the end of this year, and the Cargo Solidarity is requesting that the system be permanently implemented and the number of models and items subject to application be increased.

The government proposed a plan to extend the safe freight rate system for three years, saying that it would be difficult to expand items, but the cargo union went on strike as scheduled, saying it was only half the plan.

There is a strike following this week not only in the cargo union, but also in the labor world. What is the reason?

<Reporter> The

unions of the National Railroad and the Seoul Transportation Corporation, which operates the Seoul subway, have started fighting against the law from today.

The subway union started at 6:30 am, and the railway union started at 9:00 am, but there is a possibility of

delays on the way to work as trains are delayed  .

Unions are demanding reductions in manpower, an end to privatization, and improvements in working conditions.

Tomorrow, some 80,000 non-regular workers in charge of childcare and school meals will go on strike demanding the end of discrimination against regular workers.

The government's position is that dialogue will be maintained, but illegal acts will be severe.

For the cargo union strike, alternative transport vehicles are used, but logistics disruptions due to the strike seem inevitable.
