MS&AD Holdings, a major non-life insurance company, has announced a policy to cut 6,300 employees, or 18% of the entire group, by the end of March 2026 in order to improve management efficiency.

MS&AD Holdings has Mitsui Sumitomo Insurance and Aioi Nissay Dowa General Insurance under its umbrella, not in a merger, but in a coexisting form, and it has been a challenge to efficiently operate the two core non-life insurance companies.



As natural disasters are expected to increase insurance payments one after another, the company will work to improve management efficiency through DX = digital transformation, and will also shift personnel to areas where growth is expected.



Along with this, by the end of March 2026, we will reduce the number of employees of 6,300 people, which is 18% of the entire group.



In addition to natural attrition due to mandatory retirement, the reduction of personnel will be promoted by implementing early retirement and curbing hiring, so not only regular employees but also non-regular employees such as temporary workers will be subject to reduction. .



According to the company, this large-scale personnel reduction is expected to improve earnings by about 20 billion yen in total.
