Yes, a total of 1,307,000 people are subject to comprehensive real estate tax this year, a whopping 300,000 compared to last year.



Comprehensive real estate tax is a tax that is paid when the sum of the publicly announced prices of houses or land exceeds the basic deduction as of June 1.



Currently, the basic housing deduction amount is KRW 600 million, and up to KRW 1.1 billion is deducted for a single household owner.



In the case of land, up to 500 million won is deducted for total land, such as land without buildings, and up to 8 billion won for separately combined land, such as land attached to shops and factories.



The final tax payment bill was sent from yesterday (21st), and you can pay it by the 15th of the next month.



If the tax to be paid exceeds 2.5 million won, you can pay in installments up to 6 months.



Among single household owners, those aged 60 or older or who have held the property for 5 years or longer can defer the payment of comprehensive real estate tax until the transfer, gift, or inheritance of the house.



You can apply for a grace period by December 12th, 3 days before the payment due date.

More than 1.3 million people were subject to the tax this year.

That doesn't seem like a small number.

Looking at the data, especially in the case of Seoul, 22.4% of homeowners said that they received a comprehensive real estate tax bill yesterday.

Yes, that's why the general real estate tax is now even being called a 'middle class tax'.



The number reached 1.22 million, an increase of 289,000, an increase of nearly 30% from last year. 



Compared to 332,000 in 2017, five years ago, this figure has quadrupled.



Compared to the people who own a house, the proportion of taxpayers has also increased significantly. 



Five years ago, there were only 2 out of 100 people, but this time, 8 out of 100 people are subject to tax payment.



The reason why the number of people subject to taxation has increased significantly is because the public price jumped earlier this year.



In fact, this year’s public housing price increased by more than 17% from last year. 



The tax they have to pay is 4.1 trillion won, which is 10 times higher than 5 years ago.

In particular, as house prices have fallen a bit recently, the official price, which is the standard for paying final real estate tax, has become more expensive than the actual transaction price you buy and sell.

There are also such complexes.

So, it seems that tax resistance will not be easy.

Maybe that's why this government is taking a policy direction to reduce the burden of comprehensive real estate tax.

As preemptive measures were taken, such as lowering the rate of application of public prices when calculating taxes and temporary special cases for two houses, more than half of the original house tax estimate of 9 trillion won was reduced.



In addition, the average tax amount per person decreased by 300 billion won from last year to 3.36 million won, a decrease of 1.37 million won from last year.



However, it is still higher than 2.19 million won in 2020, before the tax burden skyrocketed.



So, in July of this year, the government submitted a comprehensive real estate tax reform bill to the National Assembly, which includes an increase in the basic deduction, but the opposition party is opposing it, saying it is a 'tax cut for the rich', so difficulties are expected even in the National Assembly.

Lotte Chilsung, third in the beer industry, rather lowered the factory price during the corona in 2020, but it was lowered by up to 13.5% for coexistence with the self-employed and as taxes were reduced due to changes in the taxation system.



Later, in March, when Hite Jinro and Orbi Beer raised the factory prices of Terra and Cass by 7.7% each, Lotte froze the price.
