Syrian Kurds respond to Turkish raids, fire rockets at border town
The rockets fired by the Kurds on a Turkish border town killed at least three people and injured a dozen others.

In the aftermath of air raids carried out by Turkey against Kurdish forces in northern Iraq and Syria in retaliation for an attack that hit Istanbul on November 13, rocket fire from Syrian territory targeted Monday November 21 a Turkish border town.
At least three people have died and a dozen have been injured, while Turkish President Recep Tayip Erdogan announces the continuation of military operations against Kurdish fighters.

According to the Turkish authorities, five rockets and mortars fired from northern Syria fell at midday on the locality of Karkamis, in the province of Gaziantep.
The shots notably hit homes and the courtyard of a high school.
A student and a teacher are among the victims.
The day before, other rocket fire also attributed to Kurdish forces from Syria had targeted a border post in the neighboring province of Kilis, injuring a soldier and seven policemen.
The Ministry of Defense announced on Monday that it had replied.

As the fighting on the ground intensified, Recep Tayyip Erdogan, in an interview with the press, declared "

" that
the military operation engaged in the night of Saturday November 19 to Sunday November 20

.
The Turkish president affirms that the land forces will join the operation “
after consultation with the Ministry of Defense and the General Staff
”.
Turkey has been brandishing this threat since May and for which it is still seeking the support of Russia and Iran, allies of the Syrian regime.
