China News Service, November 17th. On the 17th, the "Regulations for Railway Passenger Transportation" (hereinafter referred to as the "Regulations") published by the Ministry of Transport showed that children's train tickets will be sold according to age or height.

The new Regulations will come into effect on January 1, 2023.

  Article 12 of the "Procedures" stipulates that, except for students who need to commute to school by train and children who are agreed to be supervised by the railway transportation company during the journey, those who are under the age of 14 under the real-name system of tickets or less than 1.5 meters tall if the real-name system of tickets is not implemented children should travel with adult passengers.

  If the real-name ticket system is implemented, children over the age of 6 and under the age of 14 should purchase children's discount tickets; children over the age of 14 should purchase full-price tickets.

Each ticket-holding adult passenger can take one child under the age of 6 who does not occupy a seat alone on the bus for free; if there is more than one child, the excess number should purchase a children's discount ticket.

  If the real-name ticket system is not implemented, children between 1.2 meters and less than 1.5 meters in height should purchase children's discount tickets; children over 1.5 meters in height should purchase full-price tickets.

Each adult passenger with a ticket can take a child whose height is less than 1.2 meters and does not occupy a seat alone;

  The train number and seat type of the children's discount ticket should be the same as those of the accompanying adults, and the arrival station should not be farther than that of the adult ticket.

Children who enjoy free rides according to the above regulations should purchase children's discount tickets when they occupy seats alone.

  Article 13 of the "Procedures" stipulates that when a passenger brings a child free of charge, he shall inform the railway transportation company in advance, and the railway transportation company shall issue a ride certificate for the child free of charge.

If the real-name ticket system is implemented, children who ride for free must provide a valid ID when checking in and boarding.
